Glow-Shrooms Spread Across the Wastes

A black fungus called Liberum Radicalis, commonly known as Glow-Shrooms, proliferates across the wasteland. The organism absorbs radiation through a process resembling photosynthesis, producing a distinctive milky blue glow. A single specimen becomes ten within a month in irradiated areas. One in twenty mutates during each growth cycle, producing dangerous variants: Peace Blooms that suppress aggression, Fun-Gi that cause hallucinations, and worse. Ingesting Glow-Shrooms in any form causes Spore-Sickness, a progressive fungal disease. The mushrooms are simultaneously a potential cure for radiation and a new vector for Infection-driven mutation. Factions divide sharply over whether to cultivate or destroy them.
