Bunker 237 is small, quiet, and still operational. In the contested borderlands between the Pridelands and the Lone Star, where territorial disputes make every mile of ground a potential firefight, a handful of Cult of the Fallow Hopes members maintain a position that should have been overrun long ago. That it has not been is a testament to their training and, more importantly, their talent for misdirection.
The bunker operates under two standing orders. First: ensure fuel continues to flow for the war machines of the Fallow Hopes. The Cult's mechanized forces depend on supply lines that run through some of the most dangerous territory in the wastes, and Bunker 237 is a critical link in that chain. Second: monitor the activities of the Unborn of Teixiptla, one of only two "walking damned" Strains (the other being the Full Dead). When opportunity allows, destroy them.
The unit's small numbers demand creative tactics. Every operation is disguised to look like something else: a Raider strike, a hit from Diesel Jock riders, an act of aggression from one of the larger settlements in the area. The deceptions stack on top of one another, creating a picture of regional chaos that no one attributes to a small Cult outpost that, on paper, should not be there at all. The fuel flows. The Unborn are watched. And Bunker 237 continues to survive in territory that should have swallowed it whole.
