European Continent

The post-Fall European continent is a patchwork of frozen wastes, bombed-out cities, and windswept Mediterranean ruins. Dense pre-fall populations meant the Infection tore through most of the continent with devastating speed, and the nuclear response only compounded the devastation.
  Northern Europe
The bombs left this region virtually untouched compared to elsewhere, but the relentless cold is the single biggest enemy. Frozen zed march across icy plains, and raider packs scavenge for warmth and resources. Low population helped the north survive the Infection. Survivors cling to the coasts, eating from the waters, enduring a frozen landscape under the midnight sun.
  British Isles
Dense population doomed the islands. Bombs rained down on cities in an attempt to control the Infection's spread, with little effect. Now Bay Walkers hold northern stone wall strongholds while Full Dead populate the dead southern cities. Radiation remains a major ongoing hazard across the bombed urban ruins.
  Eastern Europe
Nuclear winter killed plants and animals across the frozen tundra, casting the sun in a permanent red hue. Howling winds carry radiation over bitter cold landscapes where even the undead have trouble; their limbs stiffen and stop in the eastern freeze. Remote settlements survived the worst of it. Rover groups herd livestock across the frozen expanse.
  Western Europe
Dead broken cities, mirroring the fate of the British Isles. Dense populations meant few survivors when the Infection spread. Retrogrades and Full Dead reign in the ruins, and the streets are mostly populated by restless zed.
  Southern Europe
Bombs crashed down on the ancient walled cities, but proximity to the sea offered an escape. Many fled to open water. A large Salt Wise community has since established itself in the Mediterranean, building homes in the hollowed remains of buildings on nearby islands.
