Gator Tooth Outpost

The Gator Tooth Outpost is where the gator skins pile up and the coin changes hands. This rough trading post sits on the outskirts of the Oaken Swamp, built of moldy wood and metal sheeting in the same improvised style as its neighboring outposts. Its purpose is singular: Gator Hunters bring their kills here to sell to passing traders, and the traders carry the skins south and east to markets across the Rum Coast.
Gator skins are a valuable commodity. Used for armor by fighters and elaborate clothing by the Pure Bloods of the Kingdom, the demand has driven prices steadily upward. As the price rises, more hunters risk their lives to bring down a Bull Gator or Bullet Nose Gator in the swamp's interior. The carcasses must be towed back to the outskirts as quickly as possible, because the smell of death attracts undead from the surrounding waterways. Speed is the difference between profit and a second fight more dangerous than the first.
The outpost is busy and growing busier. What was once a minor way station has become the primary marketplace for one of the region's most lucrative trades. Gator skins recovered here travel across the south, fueling an economy built on the willingness of hunters to face creatures that can swallow a man whole.
