Heaven's Towers

The tallest surviving skyscrapers on the northern Heights rise above the smog and ruin like monuments to ambition that even the Fall could not topple. Each of Heaven's Towers stands as a self-contained domain, ruled by a single powerful family that presides over every floor, every resource, and every life within its walls. Lesser families live as "guests," providing labor, loyalty, and political support in exchange for the privilege of residency high above the undead-choked streets below.

Life Above the Clouds

Within the Towers, the most fortunate maintain private gardens, pools, and water purifiers; luxuries scarcely imaginable to those scraping by at ground level. Each tower operates as a nearly self-sufficient community, with every family and social group contributing to the ruling household's power base. The ground floors have long been abandoned to the undead and raiders, making altitude itself a currency of survival. The higher one lives, the safer one sleeps.

The Politics of Altitude

Social climbing in the Towers carries a literal edge. Political intrigue saturates every corridor, as families orchestrate alliances, betrayals, and quiet eliminations to maintain or improve their standing. The euphemism "Taking a Proxy" refers to individuals who go missing so that their vote or influence must be handled by a representative, a polite fiction that masks darker realities. Grisly tales circulate of Lascarians feasting on those who fall from the Towers' graces, whether the falls are metaphorical or physical.
The Towers house a mix of Pure Bloods, Yorkers, Remnants, and some Retrogrades, all united by a shared understanding: every family does its part to remain on top, and the competition never stops. In Heaven's Towers, the view from the top is breathtaking, but the drop is fatal.
