Lucky Jim

Lucky Jim stands tall and lanky-limbed in his red, white, and blue jacket with a sunrise emblazoned across the back, hair just beginning to gray at the temples, and a smile that has not dimmed in all the years the wasteland has tried to take it from him. He shouts greetings at anyone who passes Paradise Acres, and he means every one of them.
A Merican farmer with a talent for risky business deals and gambling, Jim was one of the first people to approach the Burners with a vision: start fresh on the cleared land they left behind. His optimism and willingness to bet everything on burned ground paid off. Paradise Acres has become one of the most successful agricultural operations in Lorado, built on ash and sustained by a man whose luck defies statistical explanation.
Jim claims he has never seen the inside of the Grave Mind. In the wasteland, where death and resurrection are as common as weather, that assertion is either a miracle or a very good lie. Either way, the people who work for him believe it, and that belief feeds the general optimism that keeps Paradise Acres running through every setback. "There ain't nothin' that can get ol' Lucky down" is common knowledge throughout the Wildfire Wastes.
His success is shared, not hoarded. Jim's generosity with his workers and his community has earned him loyalty that money alone could never buy. People like Lucky Jim rather than envy him, which in the wasteland is perhaps the most extraordinary accomplishment of all.
