Mr. Summers

A kindly old man who runs the town's little post office, which is mostly just a front for Board propaganda. Mr. Summers presents as a concerned, slightly fuddled grandfather running a small-town mail service. The postmaster persona gives him natural access to monitor all residents of Pleasantville, and he freely abuses that position to keep tabs on everyone.
He is the head of the Nosy Neighbors, Pleasantville's secret police, and there is nothing fuddled about him. Playing up the role of concerned grandfather, he has already lured two groups of would-be liberators to gruesome deaths without losing a wink of sleep over it. The last time cut it particularly close, so he keeps an especially wary eye on his fellow townsfolk for signs of outside contact. He has three children and five grandchildren, all protected by his high standing with the Board. That is enough motivation to cheerfully slit the throat of anyone who threatens to expose them to the slavers' chains.
