Seasons Seat

More campground than settlement, Seasons Seat sits in the wild grassy area between Star City and Sky Temple, offering little more than flimsy shelters against wind and rain. No walls. No protective structures. The entire point is that there should not be any. Survival here depends on skill, not fortification.
Grand Master Earl Woodham founded the settlement as a survival training school under the Tribes of Seasons. Born in Star City, Woodham was repulsed by its soft ways. At eighteen, the Merican ventured into the Grasslands, one of the deadliest locations in Lone Star. Five years later he returned, hard, honed, and transformed. Some say he met with the Cad Nation and learned their ways. He decided to pass on his knowledge to any who sought it.
The hierarchy follows the seasons. Masters for each are appointed above scouts, called disciples, and specialize in various survival areas. The Master of Summer excels at fire-making and trapping. The Master of Autumn specializes in evasion and killing threats. Grand Master Woodham sits above them all. Almost anyone can join, and even the highest ranks welcome newcomers. The one restriction: no women among the official ranks. Women are allowed to learn survival skills but cannot become scouts, a rule imposed by Woodham that some expect will die with him.
General Mustang maintains good relations with Seasons Seat and sends his recruits there to train before they become full Lawmen. The location also serves as neutral ground where other tribes in the area can meet in peace. Mother Chenoa Adaes held the meeting that unified the Cad Nation at Seasons Seat, and Earl Woodham encourages this use, welcoming brothers and sisters from the wilds. A campground where the toughest survivors in Lone Star are forged, and where even hostile tribes can set their weapons aside.

History

Earl Woodham was born in Star City but found its walls suffocating. At eighteen, the Merican walked into the Grasslands, a stretch of territory that kills most who enter uninvited. He survived five years there, returning hard and honed in ways that the soft city could not explain. Some say he met with the Cad Nation and learned their ways of living off the land.
Rather than keep his skills to himself, Woodham founded Seasons Seat as a place where anyone willing could learn to survive the wasteland on their own terms. The settlement grew into the premier training ground for General Mustang's Lawmen recruits and a neutral meeting place for regional tribes. Mother Chenoa Adaes chose Seasons Seat as the site for the meeting that unified the Cad Nation, a testament to the respect Woodham's ground commands even among groups that agree on nothing else.

Geography

Seasons Seat occupies the wild grassy area northwest of Star City, between the walled city and Sky Temple. The settlement is more campground than town, consisting of flimsy shelters against wind and rain with no walls or protective structures. The open terrain relies on the same harsh Lone Star conditions as its training regimen: survival depends on the individual, not the fortifications. The flat plains offer clear sightlines in all directions but no natural defense against the undead hordes that sweep across Lone Star.
