Tay Fillion

Tay Fillion is an engineer at Can Do Station, the massive nuclear power plant that served as one of the main holdouts against the Ironworks in Homeland. The station represented both an invaluable strategic asset and a terrible threat: a working nuclear reactor in the hands of people who opposed the Ironworks, a "shiny red button" that the southerners desperately wanted to push.
Fillion described Can Do Station with the pragmatic clarity of someone who understood exactly what they were sitting on. The northern resistance had secured the station first, and maintaining control of it gave them leverage that no amount of conventional military force could easily counter. An engineer keeping a nuclear reactor operational in the post-apocalyptic wasteland was performing a feat that most settlements could not imagine, and that feat was the northern resistance's most powerful deterrent.

Personal history

Fillion worked at Can Do Station as part of the engineering team that kept the nuclear power plant operational, a technical achievement of extraordinary difficulty in a world where most pre-Fall infrastructure had been lost or destroyed. The station's strategic value to the northern resistance cannot be overstated: it provided power, leverage, and the implicit threat of catastrophic consequences if the Ironworks attempted to take it by force. Fillion and the other engineers at Can Do were simultaneously the most valuable and most endangered people in the resistance, maintaining a deterrent that kept the Ironworks at arm's length.
