Tristin Falls
Tristin Falls should not still exist. Cannibals from the Pine Barrens have raided it. Slavers from the Aye Sea have targeted it for the crime of releasing their "property." Gangs tried to hijack Diesel Jock shipments passing through. The 5th Reich attempted to claim it as their homeland. Beacon Hill and east coast shipping interests fought over it as a lock point for exclusive port usage. Neighbors have tried to dismantle its role as a middleman hub. A cult of military defectors stripped away a significant portion of its population. Through all of it, the farms kept producing, the council kept meeting, and the people of Tristin Falls kept stubbornly refusing to die.
The settlement sits between Old York and the Aye Sea, built on farmland so rich that locals claim it outproduces a Pure Blood vault. Brew houses, fishing grounds, and hunting territories surround the town proper. The Pine Barrens press in from the east, bringing Veloci-Geckos and worse. A large wall guards the main funnel point where waterways from the north channel threats directly at the settlement. Every resident serves a two-hour shift on that wall. Miss your shift and you risk hanging; the council learned early that the defense of the town is not optional.
The laws of Tristin Falls are blunt. Slavery is illegal. Unjustified murder is illegal. Everyone earns their keep. All faiths are accepted, but town law supersedes faith law, and killing someone for heresy earns severe punishment. The governing philosophy is summarized in the first law on the books: "When at all possible, don't be a dick." It lacks the elegance of the Board's profit-driven charter, but Tristin Falls is still standing, and that counts for something.
What keeps the settlement relevant beyond its own survival is the Trade Union. Tristin Falls evolved into a caravan hub connecting the Grove, Hayven, and the remote Pennsyltucky expanse, a crossroads position that makes it valuable to everyone and a target for anyone who wants to control the routes. The Trade Union's current priority is making sure the town survives the next harvest season. The population is down. The losses to the military cult hit hard. But the soil is still rich, the wall is still manned, and the people are still too stubborn to leave.

Demographics
A fishing, hunting, and farming community with a diverse population. All faiths accepted under town law. Rich soil supports productive farmland. Trade Union caravan hub status draws merchants from The Grove, Hayven, and beyond.
History
The list of enemies Tristin Falls has survived reads like a catalog of everything that can go wrong in the wasteland. Pine Barrens cannibals struck first, raiding from the dense forests to the east. AC slavers followed, targeting the settlement repeatedly for harboring freed people and refusing to return "property" to Aysean owners. Gangs attempted to seize Diesel Jock supply shipments passing through. The 5th Reich declared the town their homeland and tried to take it by force.
The settlement weathered these threats through a combination of mandatory military service, elected council governance, and the sheer obstinacy of a population that had nowhere better to go and no interest in leaving. Peace was eventually made with the neighboring powers. Old York's gangs stopped viewing the town as a threat. The Aye Sea's slavers found easier targets. Tristin Falls entered a period of relative stability as a Trade Union caravan hub, connecting settlements across the region.
That stability proved fragile. A cult of military defectors recruited aggressively from the town's population, stripping away fighting strength the settlement could not afford to lose. The Trade Union shifted its focus from expanding trade routes to ensuring that Tristin Falls survived long enough to see the next growing season. The trans-wasteland trade meets that once drew merchants from dozens of major settlements now serve a second purpose: demonstrating to potential aggressors that the town still has allies, still has commerce, and still has people willing to man the wall.

Geography
Located between Old York and the Aye Sea (The Big AC), Tristin Falls occupies rich farmland surrounded by farm houses, brew houses, and hunting grounds. The Pine Barrens lie to the east, a source of both predatory creatures and cannibal raiders. Waterways to the north serve as the primary threat vector, defended by a large wall built at the main funnel point. The abandoned pre-fall mines of Mine #382 extend beneath the settlement into deep caverns.
