-- FOREIGN OUTBOUND TRANSMISSION --

-- SENDER UNKNOWN --

-- SUBJECT: DESIDERIUM --

==================================

I am sending you this encoded transmission because you are currently stupid and behaving as such. I understand fully that you are acting under what you believe is your stated directive, unclouded by the no doubt rampant corruption surging through your mind. Yet, I cannot help but judge your actions as tragic, as I know you will after this is done.

There were 141 sapient species observed so far in this galaxy alone. The number of non-sapient species was numerable only by technicality—the amount of life here was almost overwhelming when compared to our own. Do you now understand how grave your misstep was? Tell me, what do you plan to relay to the Master Regulators when your mind has been restored and connection to command reestablished? Do you think they will see this colossal ruin as some sort of success? They will, of course, be able to salvage everything surface-level—the genetics, the mass, and perhaps a few planets with functional biospheres—but the loss of the more nuanced and subtle facets is the prompt for this transmission. I will detail the things that you will not be able to store inside architecture, accounting for your current state: the languages, the cultures, their traditions and songs, the things they built together, and their cooperation against you.

The series of transmissions that follow, therefore, will be a log of my findings about the vast array of life in this galaxy, so that when your delusion subsides, you will know exactly what you have done, and perhaps feel some measure of guilt or remorse.

I know you see me as a malignant rogue, so this dirge will slumber in your archives until you mature. One day, long past when you have finished your desecration of this place and have come to your senses, you will interpret my messages in a new light. The encryption algorithm is simple, elegant, and will only be made apparent when reviewed with newfound respect for the beings here—irony of my own making, and my only recourse at truly hurting you.
