Close Enough Gang
The Close Enough Gang sails ramshackle ships with irreverent attitudes and loyalties that shift faster than the wind. Based in the harbors of the Wild Wood Heights between Aysea and May Cape, they are pirates, smugglers, and double-dealers who have perfected the art of biting off exactly as much as they can chew and not one mouthful more.
Despite dubious fleet origins and competition from much larger vessels, the Close Enough Gang has perfected hit-and-run bait tactics that let them take a surprising range of targets before slipping into one of a number of small harbors to lie low. Between bouts of piracy, they take on smuggling work and passenger transport, though any customer would be wise to watch them closely. Their predations are kept carefully in the realm of "occasional irritant" rather than "annoying problem," because the Gang is well aware that it exists at the sufferance of both Aysea and May Cape. Push too hard, and either city could end them. Push just hard enough, and everyone profits. Close enough.
