Cult of the Crossroads

They sit in silence at the bar, and no one asks them what they traded.
The Cult of the Crossroads is the inner mystery at the heart of the King's Court's most sacred site. Where the Servants of the Cross serve as wardens and gatekeepers, the Cult represents what they guard: the actual spiritual tradition surrounding the deal at the Crossroads, the legendary act of trading one's soul for transcendent musical ability. The Servants protect the door; the Cult is what waits on the other side.
Little is known about the Cult's internal workings. Members rarely speak, rarely intermingle with the Servants despite sharing the same location, and maintain a mutual respect built on the understanding that both groups serve the Crossroads without interfering in each other's domain. If a Cult member is present at the Crossroads Bar, a beer may be purchased on their behalf, but conversation does not follow. Their silence carries the weight of people who have seen something they cannot or will not describe, and the King's Court faithful know better than to press the point.
