Dog Company

Dog Company is one of the largest ragtag groups of misfits on the eastern coast, and the most confusing to encounter. They are genuinely helpful. In a wasteland that teaches suspicion as a survival skill, Dog Company's members offer medical aid, mechanical repairs, and combat support to communities and travelers without hidden agendas or long-term debts. Travel-hardened survivors frequently react with distrust, because nobody in the wastes gives something for nothing. Dog Company does, and they have never actively antagonized any faction or faith.
A somewhat secluded organization in the Barrens, Dog Company prioritizes overall functionality over specialized utility. Nearly all members are marginally skilled at medical practices, mechanical operations, and combat: jack-of-all-trades generalists who can handle whatever the wasteland throws at them without excelling at any one thing. They are frequently traded with but not often invested in as allies, occupying a strange middle ground between valued neighbor and background fixture.
The organization was originally founded as a religious faction focused on doing the work of the old-world gods in the fallen wastes. After a few generations, the religious focus gave way to a pragmatic desire to simply help their fellow survivors. The faith faded, but the impulse behind it remained. Their genuine goodwill has earned them non-interference from larger communities, a rare courtesy in territory where most groups either submit, fight, or run.
