Frog Folk Raiders
The dart barely breaks the skin. It does not need to do more than that. Frog Folk Raiders breed extremely poisonous arrow frogs in their swamp communities, harvesting the toxins to coat darts, arrowheads, and blade edges with a paralytic agent that drops a person where they stand.
They operate as ambush predators along the waterfront trade routes and coastal paths of the Rum Coast, targeting traders and Salt Wise coast runners for their food supplies. The raids are quick, efficient, and built around the poison. A volley of darts from concealment, a few minutes for the paralytic to take effect, and then the Frog Folk move in to strip the cargo. They take foodstuffs first; everything else is secondary. The raids are not about wealth or territory. They are about feeding the clan.
When the raids fall short and food runs scarce, the paralyzed become the meal. Frog Folk have been documented dragging away immobilized victims for later consumption, a practice that transforms a dangerous but survivable encounter into something far worse.
