Most wasteland gear is built to kill. GOAT gear is built to catch, and that difference tells you almost everything about the marque, even though no record names the people behind it. The Billy GOAT hunting bow drops a runner from a distance, delivering the crippling and takedown blows that put a target on the ground without the wrangler ever closing to arm's reach. The GOAT Gear armor is built for the moment the catch stops cooperating; when the plating breaks, it answers with a burst of knockback that clears a ring of open space around whoever is wearing it. And the manacles do not merely hold a prisoner, they blind one, leaving the captive unable to find a door they cannot see for as long as the binds stay on.
  Put those three together and you have a complete philosophy of work: bring the quarry down alive, survive it when it fights back, and haul it somewhere it does not want to go. This is a bounty-and-capture trade, not a butcher's, and the tools are the tells.
  But the GOAT catalogue has a second seam running through it, darker than the first. The armor's recipe is reported to call for radioactive metal, which is a strange thing to strap to your body unless the strangeness is the point. And the Rough-Cycle, the marque's haul rig, carries a grim bonus in its sidecar: on a commerce run, a second rider can duplicate the necrological goods the driver is already trading. A wrangler's gear with a mortician's sideline, in other words. Whoever the makers are, they built for people comfortable working the exact seam where capturing the living shades into trafficking the dead, and comfortable enough to stamp a friendly little name on the whole grim operation.
