Mutter's Marvels
Mutter's Marvels are the meanest, most violent, and most fearless faction in the Delphian Wastes, and they are considerably smarter than they look. A group of Retrogrades driven by extreme Darwinist conviction, they hold the center of the Wastes from Mutter House, a pre-Fall medical oddity museum lit by candlelight and the green glow of radioactive materials. Glass jars line the walls containing preserved faces, distended skulls, and deformed specimens from before the Fall. The Marvels sleep among these displays. When one of their own falls in battle and the body is recovered, they preserve it and add it to the collection, showing "the failures and missteps in evolution" for all eternity.
The faction believes in evolution through strength and mutation. Members who develop additional appendages, growths, or other evolutionary grotesqueries are seen as proof of the faith. Those without visible mutations may claim internal ones, or fake external ones with prosthetics, but discovery of deception results in a beating savage enough to provide real injuries worth displaying. The high number of medically trained members makes faking particularly dangerous; they will notice when treating combat wounds. Almost all members are Darwinists, and the level of intellect within the organization is higher than their brutal appearance suggests. They play as dumb as they look to lure enemies into traps, then deploy radiation weapons that irradiate their own forces as readily as the enemy.
Led by Guts "2-Guts" Guttington, who earned the position by besting the previous leader Treble Black in combat, the Marvels have held the center of the Wastes for years against constant assault from every direction. Upper floors of Mutter House have been converted to sniper nests. Currently, 2-Guts is bolstering defenses rather than pushing outward, sensing the Campbell family's financial collapse and preparing for the right moment to make a decisive move. The Marvels' goal is a Darwinist Utopia in the Delphian Wastes, built by weeding out the weak and growing the strong. In the meantime, they add to their collection and wait.

Structure
Mutter's Marvels are led by Guts "2-Guts" Guttington, who earned the position by besting the previous leader Treble Black in combat. The faction is composed almost entirely of Retrogrades who are Darwinists, with a higher than average level of intellect and medical training concealed behind their brutal appearance. Members are expected to display evolutionary mutations; those without visible mutations may claim internalized ones or fake external ones with prosthetics, though discovery of faking results in savage beatings. The high number of medically trained members means deception is difficult to sustain through combat injuries.
Public Agenda
Mutter's Marvels seek to create a Darwinist Utopia in the Delphian Wastes by weeding out the weak and growing the strong. Their mission is to hold central territory through superior tactics and fearless aggression, use radiation as both weapon and evolutionary catalyst, and prove through their own mutations that the path of evolution runs through pain, adaptation, and survival. If you die, you better the species. If you survive and win, you do the same.
History
Mutter's Marvels claimed the center of the Delphian Wastes by seizing Mutter House, a pre-Fall building containing thousands of preserved medical oddities in glass jars. The faction adopted the collection as both headquarters and religious shrine, viewing the specimens as evidence of evolutionary history. When members fall in battle and their bodies are recovered, they are preserved and added to the collection alongside the pre-Fall exhibits, showing "the failures and missteps in evolution" for all eternity.
Under successive leaders, the Marvels have held their territory against constant assault from all sides. Guts "2-Guts" Guttington took command by defeating Treble Black in combat and has shifted strategy toward bolstering defenses rather than pushing outward, sensing the Campbell family's withdrawal and preparing for the right moment to make a decisive move. The faction's combination of extreme aggression, tactical intelligence, and reckless use of radiation as a weapon has made them the most feared group in the Delphian Wastes.
