Razor Backed Anaconda
Thirty feet of mutated snake with a dorsal ridge that functions as a living saw. The Razor Backed Anaconda carries thousands of small bone-like spurs along nearly the full length of its body, each tapering to a sharpened point. From a distance the ridge looks like a single continuous fin. Up close, the individual spurs are visible, and by then it is far too late.
The killing method is constriction, same as any anaconda, but the mutations have turned it into something far worse. When a Razor Back wraps its coils around prey, the rippling motion of its body drives those thousands of dorsal spurs through whatever is caught inside. The result is less a squeeze and more a shredding, with the spine saw carving through flesh, bone, and armor alike as the coils tighten. The snake has been documented ripping horses apart, rending wooden boats, and slicing through Club Tailed Turtles that weigh five tons and carry thirty points of natural armor.
Sailors on the southern waterways call it the ship killer. It hunts from rivers and riverbanks, ambushing anything that crosses the water or wanders too close to the edge. In water it moves with terrifying speed and stealth, and it responds to the alarm chemicals released by injured Reef Back Whales, entering a predatory frenzy that draws it toward any wounded creature in the vicinity.
