Retribution Outpost
The Retribution Outpost exists for a single purpose, and everyone there knows it: purge the Final Knights from Vegasia. That the task borders on impossible has not diminished the conviction of the people who staff it.
Recently constructed in the wastelands outside Vegasia, positioned along the Guts N' Bolts road race route, the outpost draws its garrison from the margins. Outcasts from other communities. Converts from heretic faiths, people who burned their old beliefs and came to the Cult with nothing but zeal. Members of outlying communities that have suffered under the Final Knights and want something done about it. It is not an elite fighting force. It is a congregation of the wronged, given weapons and a direction.
Open warfare is not viable. The way Vegasia and the Final Knights operate makes direct military confrontation impractical, so the outpost relies on what it can manage: espionage, guerrilla warfare, attacks of opportunity. Small strikes. Quiet intelligence gathering. The patient, grinding work of undermining an enemy too entrenched to face head-on.
The Cult's own assessment of the campaign is not optimistic. But the outpost waits for reinforcements. Ziegfield's Wall, a mobile Diesel Jock force hidden in the Smoking Tops, is gathering troops and vehicles with the intent of joining the Retribution Outpost for a full siege of Vegasia once sufficient strength is assembled. Whether that strength arrives in time, or at all, remains the outpost's defining uncertainty.

Purpose / Function
The Retribution Outpost serves as the Cult of the Fallow Hopes' forward operating base for the campaign against the Final Knights in Vegasia. Unable to wage open warfare due to how Vegasia and the Final Knights operate, the outpost relies on espionage, guerrilla warfare, and attacks of opportunity. Its garrison is composed of outcasts, converts from heretic faiths, and members of outlying communities that have suffered at the hands of the Final Knights. The outpost awaits reinforcement from Ziegfield's Wall for a planned siege of Vegasia.
