The Venice Resort Auction Hall and Arena operates on a daily cycle that tracks the arc of Vegas City's darkest commerce. During the day, indebted families are sold first so friends and business associates can rescue loved ones or buy out partners. As the sun sets, skilled and unskilled laborers are auctioned for rubble clearing, landscaping, work teams, and repair depots. Once night life is in full swing, the servers and dealers are swapped for more attractive counterparts, drinks flow freely, and the specialty and designer slaves are brought out: Pure Blood designer stock, Iron Slaves from the Iron Works, Dieseljock racers seeking race ownership, and exotic specimens from distant lands.
  Around two in the morning, unsold slaves are gathered on the catwalk for a final bidding pass. Each is assigned a number and color. A giant roulette wheel with a bowling-ball-sized ball is uncovered, and the Young family representative delivers the ball. When the wheel stops, freedom and death share the same odds. Victors earn their freedom. The rest become the cost paid for entertaining the masses in the arena below.
