Western Australia
The most wildlife-hostile region of the Australian continent. The fauna here has grown so dangerous that most creatures of limited sentience cannot survive, including many Strains. Only a handful of Natural One and local indigenous Strains persist in this lethal environment.
Engorged Cassowary descendants dominate the fruit-bearing tree territories. These massive raptor-like birds have grown to nearly eight feet tall and defend their domain with extreme aggression, destroying anything living or dead that enters. The undead are no exception; the birds shred them as readily as any other intruder.
Across the high grass plains, massive irradiated boars thunder with more striking force than a Goliath zombie. They are aggressive, irradiated, and do not distinguish between the living and the dead when provoked.
The undead themselves have become even more dangerous here than elsewhere. Funnel spiders infest the walking dead in swarms, turning every zombie encounter into a layered threat. A single undead can carry dozens of deadly spiders that scatter when their host is engaged, attacking anything nearby.
Wildlife is too dangerous for most creatures of limited sentience. The few who survive here do so through intimate knowledge of the land, staying clear of the bird territories, reading the movements of the boar herds, and knowing which dead to avoid based on the spider colonies they carry. This is not a place that tolerates the unprepared.
