The Sunken Saints and Rusty Lanterns orchestrate a conspiracy to assassinate the Rat King and dismantle the Pure Blood Royals' grip on the Kingdom. The plan uses a staged rebellion in a local settlement to draw the Rat King's armies away from the Kingdom, while assassins strike at the undefended Royals. The Conch Battalion under Captain Vincent Douglas provides naval support. Pirate radio broadcasts denounce the Rat King across the wasteland. The plot culminates in a coordinated assault: the settlement survives the Rat King's army long enough for the Sunken Saints to reach the Kingdom. The Rat King falls, but the shadow war that follows will nearly destroy Murder Inc and the Sunken Saints alike.
