Altar of Scars
About forty miles north of Vegas proper, the desert shows signs of upheaval as if a great meteor struck. Closer in, massive rotting tentacles rise and fall in the air, throwing shadows for miles. A mammoth undead creature has broken the surface here; thousands of shambling dead gather around the breach point, drawn to whatever lies beneath. About a mile from the breach, shackles and chains are mounted onto a hillside above trenches carved by the creature's tentacles. This is the Altar of Scars, the second largest Final Knights encampment in Vegasia.
On the culling night in Vegas, those found worthy are brought to the Altar for Final Knights rites of divination. Mutilated and tortured sacrifices are left chained to the hill; their blood drains down the tendril's trough to draw the Gravemind's attention, luring the creature to consume the offerings. Hierophant Abdiel oversees the sacrifices and offers dozens of living victims weekly. The screams from the hill carry even further than the tentacles' shadows.

Hazards & Traps
The Altar sits approximately one mile from a Gravemind breach point where massive rotting tentacles extend from a larger undead mass beneath the earth. Thousands of shambling dead gather around the breach. The Final Knights maintain an active encampment here, and Hierophant Abdiel conducts dozens of living sacrifices weekly. The sacrificial blood is designed to attract the Gravemind's tentacles. Any approach risks encountering both the undead horde around the breach and the armed Final Knights encampment.
