Attercops

A Lascarian spy network operating in most major cities across the fallen lands. Underground "tap points" are overseen by elders who record and distribute information. Surface agents called "spinnerlings" travel to the surface to traffic intelligence, broker deals, arrange assassinations, and negotiate protection contracts.
The elders maintain a twisted Nuclear Family structure, acting as murderous parental figures who host weekly dinners for their operatives. These domestic rituals serve as both cover and control mechanism, binding spinnerlings to their elder through obligation and fear.

Structure

Tap Points

The Attercops operate from underground "tap points" in major cities. Each tap point is overseen by an elder who records, collates, and distributes intelligence gathered from the surface. These hidden listening posts form the backbone of the network.

Spinnerlings

Junior operatives called spinnerlings travel from the underground to the surface, serving as the network's hands and eyes above ground. They traffic information, broker deals, arrange assassinations, and negotiate protection contracts on behalf of their elder.

Culture

Nuclear Family Dinners

The elders model a twisted Nuclear Family dynamic. Each elder acts as a murderous parental figure, hosting weekly dinners that bring operatives together in a macabre domestic setting. These gatherings reinforce loyalty, hierarchy, and the unspoken understanding that disobedience is a family matter, settled in the family way.

History

The Attercops are a product of Lascarian subterranean culture, leveraging the natural advantage of underground communities to build an intelligence network that spans the fallen lands. Their presence in most major cities speaks to a long history of careful expansion and deeply embedded operatives.
