The Fallen
Every member of The Fallen was once something else. A Kings Court devotee who believed the devil truly waits at the crossroads. A Fallow Hopes soldier whose prayers drifted toward darker things. An Accensorite whose marks began to twist into new shapes. They came to the Final Knights not through nihilism but through their original faith, finding in the Knights' campaign of blasphemy something that resonated with what they had already begun to suspect: that there is a spiritual essence beneath the pain, a force driving the darkness forward with purpose.
This belief makes The Fallen nearly heretical even within the Final Knights. The broader faith rejects the spiritual outright, but The Fallen insist that something beyond the material world fuels the Knights' war against religion. They gather in small covens to discuss theology, conspire against their former brethren, and plan the corruption of priests and believers they once counted as allies. Upon conversion, each member accepts the brand of Baphomet, seared or grown upon their skin, superimposed on the icons of the faith they abandoned. For Accensorites, the markings appear gradually, spreading across the body like a revelation written in flesh.
Their most feared sites are the Blood Red Chapels on Murderer's Mile in Vegas City, where former holy places have been desecrated and repurposed for The Fallen's rites. The walls are coated with the blood and flesh of those they once prayed beside. Accensorite captives are processed through these chapels for torture, forced conversion, or execution. Those who refuse are reserved for chaining to the exterior of the Black Pyramid. The Fallen consider this mercy: a chance to face the truth before the end.
