Gedmone works alongside the traditional Genjian community, deconstructing and documenting pre-fall mechanical devices with a methodical patience that most wastelanders would find excruciating. Every component is catalogued. Every function is recorded. The technology and information hidden within the bunker walls are being rendered into a form that future generations can study, replicate, or at minimum understand. This alone would mark Gedmone as an asset to the Cult of the Fallow Hopes.
But the engineering work has led somewhere unexpected. Through the process of dismantling old-world machinery, Gedmone has developed something rare in the wastes: a solid understanding of exactly how the fall of humanity happened. Not myth. Not scripture. Not the filtered accounts of oral tradition passed through generations of bias. Gedmone knows the mechanisms, the sequences, the mechanical and medical realities behind the end of the world.
That knowledge has become a project. Working with a league of Grave Robbers, Gedmone is organizing documentation to produce the first scientifically proven history of the fall, combining mechanical analysis, medical data, and recorded historical accounts into a single, evidence-based record. The title change is already anticipated: Engineer will soon give way to Historian, reflecting the shift from dismantling machines to assembling truth.
The work is necessary. It is also dangerous. Devotion to scientific truths has earned Gedmone enemies both inside and outside the faith. There are those who prefer the fall to remain a matter of belief rather than evidence, and a proven history threatens comfortable narratives on every side.
