Father Joe

Father Joe is what a Nuclear Family Father looks like when the frontier forges him instead of the city. Tall and weather-beaten, with a chiseled jawline bearing enough scars to prove every year of his service, he leads the Spires community in one of the most dangerous areas of Canvas. He does not take weakness lightly and does not tolerate it for long.
Locals describe him as a man who should have gone Savage. The desert had every opportunity to strip away his humanity, and he held on through sheer will, faith, and the determination to keep his families alive. He built the Spires into a prosperous community against odds that have consumed lesser settlements, proving that survival is best achieved through the bonds of family and the backbone of uncompromising leadership.
That success has consequences beyond the Spires. Within the broader Nuclear Family faith, Father Joe's frontier prosperity is causing uncomfortable questions. If a single Father can build a thriving community in the harshest environment Canvas has to offer, what does that say about the urban neighborhoods of the City of Saints? A growing number of the faithful believe that city living breeds a softness that only frontier hardship can cure. Father Joe has not encouraged this comparison, but he has not needed to. His existence makes the argument.
Every scar on his face is a lesson. Every standing wall in the Spires is evidence. Father Joe leads by example, and the example is this: family is forged in the fire, not appointed in the comfort of the city.
