Canvas
Canvas stretches from border to border across the middle of Deserter, a broad belt of land named for its striking patches of color that crest into canyons, cliff sides, and golden desert waves. The landscape is breathtaking in a way that the wasteland rarely permits: bright hues painted across rock and sand, long dunes rolling like ocean swells beneath a sky so wide it makes travelers feel exposed. Almost no one lives here by choice, and for reasons that become apparent to anyone who stays past sunset.
Left to its own devices, Canvas has developed extremely dangerous fauna and flora with no natural predators except each other. Diamond Snakes with scales as hard as picks slide through the rocks. Snipeteeth, four-legged predators somewhere between mountain cats and giant lizards, camouflage perfectly among the craggy formations. In the Dunes, massive desert snakes coil around travelers who stray from the known paths. The sandstorms that shift terrain in the Dunes erase landmarks overnight, making accurate maps impossible.
Very few communities choose Canvas as a permanent home. Annual gatherings, ritual travels, and religious events bring temporary populations to the region, but those who stay year-round face a harsh and potentially short existence. The Savage, individuals who have become so feral they have nearly lost their humanity, are found throughout the terrain. Sub-regions include Caravaner's Dream, a deceptive expanse of craggy rock formations ideal for ambush, and the Spires, tall perilous rock structures at its center where the Nuclear Family has carved out a foothold. The Dunes host the annual Diesel Jock races, a spectacle that draws competitors from across the wastes.

Geography
Canvas runs from border to border across the middle of Deserter, a broad belt of bright patches of color that crest into canyons, cliff sides, and golden desert waves. Sub-regions include the Dunes, shifting golden sand seas with no permanent landmarks where sandstorms erase terrain overnight; Caravaner's Dream, a deceptive expanse of craggy rock formations in strange inhuman shapes that provide perfect ambush terrain; and the Spires, tall perilous rock structures rising at the center of the Dream. The terrain is almost entirely uninhabited by permanent communities. Extremely dangerous fauna and flora roam unchecked, with no natural predators except each other.
