MPYRE Dogs
The MPYRE Dogs are one of the largest and most ruthless gangs in the Plunge, forged from a year-long turf war between the Malditos and the original MPYRE Dogs that ended not in victory but in marriage. The Malditos were a matriarchal Affiliates gang led by Jeter after her husband Tops was assassinated by Jayden, the leader of the rival Dogs. When killing Tops failed to break the Malditos, a negotiated ceasefire led to the two gangs merging under the MPYRE Dogs name, formalized through a union between Jayden and Jeter. All dissenters were exterminated immediately after the merger to cement control.
Jayden serves as the visible leader and rallying figure, an able commander who keeps the rank and file loyal. Jeter is the organizational brains, the strategist who transformed a merged gang of rival factions into a profitable enterprise. Together they control a considerable strip of swampy territory on the eastern Plunge, centered on the ABC Shipyard, Old York's primary ship repair facility. Control of the shipyard gives the MPYRE Dogs leverage over every waterfront gang dependent on keeping their vessels seaworthy.
The gang's primary external conflict is with the Tremors, who fire rockets and mortars at the ABC Shipyard from across the river in the Brokelands. The Dogs have mounted counter-attacks into Tremor territory, but the bombardment continues. Meanwhile, Jeter has begun looking beyond the Plunge for expansion. Having withdrawn from the Affiliates' protection after the merger, the MPYRE Dogs answer to no one, and Jeter intends to keep it that way.
