Riches Land
The islands rise from brackish water, separated by tidal rivers that taste of salt when the ocean pushes in and of something fouler when it recedes. Each island hosts a different Accensorite compound. Each compound worships differently. And between them, on bridges and causeways and stretches of contested ground, ascended Accensorites battle for supremacy between faiths. Riches Land is a holy city. It is not a peaceful one.
South of Raincouver, the archipelago spreads across the tidal flats like a broken prayer. Temples and holy places dominate every skyline, and the air carries competing sounds: chanting from one island, weapons striking from the bridge between two others, the low hum of devotion that never quite resolves into silence. The compounds themselves are secure. Within their walls, the faithful practice in relative peace. The violence happens in the spaces between, where no single faith holds authority and every faith holds a claim.
The Fortress of Defense sits slightly north, within Raincouver's district, but its purpose belongs to Riches Land. An old military complex surrounded on all sides by water, its trenches filled to serve as a moat, the Fortress is a Fallow Hopes bastion. The only way in or out is by boat. Highly trained Accensorite troops garrison the compound, and their presence is the reason the holy war in Riches Land has not yet consumed the city entirely. The Fallow Hopes do not take sides between faiths. They take sides against anyone who threatens the settlement's survival, and their numbers are sufficient to make that position stick.
The Rockin' River Casino sits on the waterfront, run by the Black Diamonds, a Pure Blood faction out of Raincouver. Card games, roulette wheels, secluded rooms for business. The Black Diamonds draw Accensorites in from the inter-faith fights, offering entertainment and distraction in equal measure. There are darker dealings behind the hospitality: the Black Diamonds have struck agreements with a local farming community to test alchemical compounds on casino guests, a practice that has not yet become public knowledge.
The Temple stands apart from the violence. A Sainthood of Ashes stronghold, it has survived war, overzealous Darwinists, and King's Court attacks. Gardens accented by delicate architecture surround the building, and the grounds remain one of the few places in Riches Land where the sound of fighting does not carry. West of the main islands, the Garden Lands occupy a small island near Nootka. Genjian cultivators grow medicinal and recreational strains there: drugs, hallucinogens, and remedies that the Salt Wise and Blue Wave Company buy in bulk. The Black Diamonds purchase the recreational stock for their casino operations. What grows on the Garden Lands fuels both healing and vice across the archipelago, and the Genjian who tend the crops make no distinction between the two.

History
The islands drew the Accensorites because the islands kept them apart. Each compound could worship according to its own faith without the daily friction of sharing walls with believers of a different creed. The tidal rivers served as natural boundaries, and for a time, the arrangement worked. Different faiths, different islands, a shared understanding that the water between them was as much separation as connection.
The peace did not hold. As the compounds grew and their faiths deepened, the spaces between islands became contested ground. Bridges and causeways that had served as neutral passage became battlefields where ascended Accensorites clashed over theological differences that outsiders could not distinguish but that the faithful considered worth dying for. The holy war that followed has never formally started because it has never been declared. It simply exists: a constant, grinding violence conducted on the streets between sanctuaries.
The Fallow Hopes established the Fortress of Defense in response. Their military presence in the northern district, backed by trained troops and a defensible compound accessible only by boat, provides the one check on total escalation. The Black Diamonds arrived later, recognizing opportunity in the chaos, and built the Rockin' River Casino to profit from fighters looking for diversion between battles. The Sainthood of Ashes at the Temple has outlasted every cycle of violence through a combination of fortification, neutrality, and the quiet understanding that the faithful will always need healers. Riches Land has settled into a pattern that looks stable only because no one faction has yet accumulated enough power to break it.
