Rodeo Wranglers
The Bull City rodeo happens once a month, and the Rodeo Wranglers make it happen. They are the organizers, the performers, the safety crew, and the people who go out into the wild to find the creatures that fill the arena. Mostly Remnants, Natural Ones, and Mericans, the Wranglers dress like Lone Star cowboys and wear small scrap-metal medals on their chests: a cow skull with mountains beneath it.
Their work begins long before the crowds arrive. Creature acquisition teams tag along with Sweet Grass ranchers on long-range expeditions, seeking massive beasts from the plains using horses, lures, traps, and enough sedatives to down a zed. They work closely with the Wardens of the Dead Forest to collect zed attractant for luring in the bigger and more dangerous specimens. Transporting a captured creature back to Bull City alive is a job that kills or maims someone at least once a season.
Inside the arena, the Wranglers split into specializations. Snipers ring the perimeter, ready to neutralize anything that breaks containment. Logistics teams manage the flow of events and crowds. Performers ride, wrangle, and occasionally get trampled for the entertainment of paying spectators. The whole operation is run with a determination toward fairness that surprises most outsiders. Trying to bribe the wrong Wrangler may cost considerably more than just a place in the show.
