The Blue Line

The Blue Line is a coalition of civically minded gangs that acts as self-appointed law enforcement across the Heights and the Plunge on Old York's central island. Born from the aftermath of a particularly brutal gang war that tore through both territories, the Blue Line emerged as a relatively new development in Old York's fractured politics. Several gangs united under a shared peacekeeping mission, forming a parent organization that incorporates member gangs as constituent units called Squads.
Each Squad claims a patrol territory in the Heights or the Plunge and operates with semi-independence, retaining its own equipment and personnel while coordinating through dispatch points at strategic locations. When threats escalate beyond a single Squad's capability, an all-call dispatch rallies multiple units to respond. Regular sweeps of outlying Plunge properties clear undead before they can mass and push toward the Heights, and Squads receive salvage rights from the territories they patrol in exchange for this service.
The Blue Line has no official political backing or centralized government authority. A dispatch station on the northwest side of Throg's End bridge extends their reach toward the Brokelands, and an attempt to establish a call station at the remote Tappin' Zed Bridge failed when radio range proved too limited. Their most pressing concern is the growing tension with the Iron Cross mercenary company. Rumored clashes on territory borders have occurred away from public view, and if the conflict escalates to open warfare, the collateral damage could devastate the Plunge.
