West Greenland
Primarily populated by Natural Ones and Semper Mort along the western coast of Greenland. Natural One whaling and hunting communities built settlements along the shoreline over many generations, developing rich folklore and traditions tied to the sea.
Elders warned against going inland. The young did not listen.
Within the past decade, tribes went against elder teachings and spread into the interior. What they found was the remains of an ancient, incredibly advanced civilization: vast fields stretching across the landscape, thousands upon thousands of rows of metal and glass tubes wired together by technological nightmares beyond any living comprehension. The tribes attempted to use the metal tubes as Scrap and give proper burials to the frozen bodies found in the glass containers. They established small camps in the region and called them First Hope.
Then the glass tombs began to open. Semper Mort rose from within: clawed creatures with maws of jagged teeth, seen by the Natural Ones as ancient demons awakened by the sins of those who defied the elders. The tribes fled the interior as the awakened Semper Mort began finding and reviving their tube-mates from the remaining pods. Once enough had risen, they set about finding provisions to sustain their continued existence.
The coast remains Natural One territory. The interior belongs to something else entirely. The fields of glass tubes still stretch across the landscape, and not all of them have opened yet.
