Witch Doctors

Deep in the Everforest, hidden among the cypress trees in houses of wood, vines, and leaves, the Witch Doctors practice a form of the King's Court faith that most followers prefer not to think about. They are Full Dead priests of a darker subsect, combining drum-based rituals with herbal medicine, curses, and healing in equal measure. No one is sure when the first Witch Doctor settled in the swamps. Some whisper they have been there since before the Fall.
Finding a Witch Doctor requires knowing exactly where to look. The swamp hides them well, and the Doctors have no interest in being found by casual visitors. Those who do seek them out come for healings, curses, remedies, or the more specialized services that conventional medicine cannot provide. Payment is never in currency. The Witch Doctors accept favors, services, items, and flesh, the latter being a biological necessity for any Full Dead rather than simple cruelty.
Their trade connections extend beyond the spiritual. Vials of unknown liquids are carted out of the swamps by boat, destined for the Peach Tree Soda Company, which uses the Witch Doctors as a covert supplier of poisons and dubious substances. When flesh supply runs low, the Doctors deal with the Flesh Farmers for inventory. Unguided travelers who wander into Witch Doctor territory without a local escort tend not to wander out again; the drums that echo through the swamp at night are not music but the sound of a transaction in progress.
