Freemont Canopy
A six-story stone pillar topped by a large platform with a burning torch fed by natural fuels, the Freemont Canopy overlooks the end of Murderer's Mile and serves as the closest thing to an official government building Vegas has ever produced. From the upper platform, elected officials use megaphones to announce decrees from above the stabbing and shooting range of the public below. The giant lottery drum at the top determines new officials during the founding anniversary.
The first two floors are designed as welcome rooms for lobbyists and private interest groups to deliver bribes of money, supplies, drugs, and sex in comfort. Above the lobby floors, security tightens; copies of Bookie's Limit reports are stored for reference, though elected officials sometimes blot out sections or cause key copies to disappear. The Rivera family has access to audit and replace stolen or doctored files. Bribery and coercion are not considered dirty practice here; they are the status quo of Vegasian politics. The End Cirquis assassin tribe protects the Canopy and its surrounding streets.
