Touchfather Orson Brinker
A skeletal and emaciated Retrograde, never seen without his trademark cowboy hat and bolo tie, Touchfather Orson Brinker is the High Inquisitor of the Salt Lake Tabernacle: the largest and deadliest Fallow Hopes Inquisition branch in the world. He took the position when the previous High Inquisitor died mysteriously of illness, possibly by poison, without going on his Long Walk. Brinker publicly decried the dead man and used the opportunity to whip the Tabernacle into a hateful frenzy.
He selected the abolishment of fornication as his crusade, a sin that had never been particularly emphasized before, and convinced the faithful that the LORD hates sinners, fornicators, and prostitutes. The purges that followed killed dozens in surrounding areas. He specifically targeted the Final Knights, accusing them of orgiastic behavior, and demanded their materials be brought to him for study. He retreated into the Tabernacle library to examine what was recovered and emerged more cruel and venomous than before. He began demanding tithings of Inquisitors' wives, who were often never seen again. Eventually he lost interest in the wives and turned his attention to children, taking the honorific Touchfather and claiming to purge demons of fornication from the next generation. The few times his youthful congregation is seen in public, their thousand-yard stare tells anyone who looks closely enough what the Touchfather does behind closed doors.
