Mercy Pointe

Mercy Pointe occupies a pocket of previously inhabited land in the northern Great Lakes region, offering fresh water, a sea breeze, and boat access. The settlement is funded and run by the Wayfaring Strangers, a Sainthood of Ashes seafaring organization built around the notion of hospitality. They declared Mercy Pointe a home for all, welcoming displaced survivors from across the Wasteland regardless of Strain or origin. Before the Wayfaring Strangers arrived, this location was known as Driftwood Dover. An unknown event wiped out all inhabitants. Neighboring communities remain fearful, sharing stories of what truly happened to the lost souls of Driftwood Dover. That haunted history creates tension as the new settlement grows, and the recreation of the town has drawn new parties hoping to get in on the action, or to see it torn asunder.

Demographics

  • Hope's Hand: Militant faction providing military protection and community support for displaced persons.
  • The Orchard: Militant environmentalists dedicated to protecting the region's flora and fauna.
  • Gearworkers: Mechanics and miscreants combining old and new technology for profit.

  • The Chronicle: Journalists and historians tracking the history of the world Post-Fall.
  • Windfall: A talent agency supporting artistic and cultural expression, aligned with the Kings and Queens Court.
  • The Nightingales: A family of Quiet Folk medical practitioners with decades of experience. Motives unclear.
  • The Firestarters: Rowdy criminal arsonists led by Frosty Fireforge.
  • Government

The settlement is funded and administered by the Wayfaring Strangers, a Sainthood of Ashes seafaring organization. While they declare Mercy Pointe a home for all, the practical governance involves balancing the interests of nine competing factions.

    Defences

The settlement faces wandering Zed hordes, roving bands of Raiders, faction politics, and the occasional hulking Gorilla Bat. Maritime access provides both trade opportunities and defensive advantages.
