Palace of Jaguars
The Palace of Jaguars is the smallest major temple on the grounds of Teotihuacan, home to the Tribe of Jaguars. It stands adjacent to the west of the Pyramid of the Moon, a squat two-story structure with no walls between its floors, only steps. All pre-fall art has long since weathered away from the exterior. What remains is a slab of gray stone marked with a tally of blood stains from kills, each one representing a successful hunt. The Jaguars measure worth in pounds of meat, not decoration.
Two groups of tribesmen occupy the palace, one to each floor. While one floor hunts, the other stays back to prepare food from stored game. Hunts begin in the early morning and sometimes end well after sundown. Quotas must be met to keep the Tribe of the Sun working, the Moon tribe's cold stores full, and the Quetzalcoatl warriors at full strength. The meat is stored in the cold rooms of the Pyramid of the Moon. The Jaguars also produce clothing, bedding, camping supplies, and the traps that the Tribe of Quetzalcoatl uses to defend the complex against the infected.
The Tribe of Jaguars leads only when the tribe ventures outside the city, which is a rarity for the others. Their knowledge of the Prideland wilds is far beyond that of anyone else in Teotihuacan.
