He oversaw the Graverobber program that enhanced infection levels in Iron Works officers, making them harder to permanently kill. When the key designer of that process, Doctor L. Arx, showed signs of moral discomfort, Koch did not threaten or punish. He recruited Eileen, a Pureblood with deep personal influence over Arx, to keep the Graverobber productive and loyal. The manipulation was elegant, invisible, and characteristic of a mind that preferred leverage to violence.

He returned each time due to the enhanced infection his own program had provided, growing more taunting and arrogant with each resurrection.
